Located on Front Street off the harbour in Marquette, MI, the décor is beyond comparison and the view of the harbor is stunning. The wait staff is excellent and very knowledgeable about the beers and about the food. This place is nice. It isn’t a life changer but it is absolutely solid. The front room is brick and offers an old-timer feel; it also has a lovely view of Lake Superior. This place is definitely worth your time. The menu provides many choices for appetizers, salads, soups, burgers, plus cold and hot sandwiches.
The vegetarian in the group faced the difficult decision between the Feta Panini, the Goat Cheese and Beet Salad or the Grilled Muenster and Roasted Tomato. However, opted for the vegetarian stir fry, which ended up being very flavorful but could have used more rice in the dish. The salads were fresh and crisp with plenty of dark greens. The selection of microbrews was fantastic.
The IPA’s were very refreshing. Apparently, patience and cheerfulness pay off here as their busiest times are at the beginning and ending of the college terms. Other times there is often a short wait, but nothing like when it is “back to school time”. Reservations might be best, especially if you have a large group.
If you visit Marquette, and miss this place, it would be unfortunate.
