When your craving good Cajun Creole food, you wouldn’t think you could find it in Marquette, MI. However, you would be wrong. Lagniappe serves amazing spicy cajun creole food that will leave you full and more than satisfied.
Chef Don Durley has been tantalizing Marquette area taste buds since 1983. He has over 40 years of experience and you can taste it in the food. Lagniappe has been open since 2006.
As you walk in, you see a big open dining area. We ordered salad and their Signature Seafood Bisque. The soup tasted amazing and had a little heat that wasn’t over powering. For our entrees, we got the Vegetarian Risotto that can also be made vegan, and the Crab Cake Flat Bread Sandwich.
What is great about this restaurant is you can request the spiciness level of the dish on a 1-10 scale. 1-2 is a little spicy, 3 is medium and anything over 4 you just taste hot. We decided to try 2 and 3, however we love spicy food, so next time we will try level 4.
Following up this great meal we had dessert, which in this case was a lemon drop martini. The martini was mixed to perfection, which was not to sweet and not to sour. It was a great drink to finish up the meal. Check out the upstairs store where Lagniappe sells all of their house made seasonings as well as other products they prepare in-house.
